David Archuleta Signs Record Contract
Get cheap American Idols Live Tickets and back stage passes here! Don't miss your chance to meet American Idols Live! It was announced today that American Idol runner-up David Archuleta has signed to 19 Recordings/Jive Records. Archuleta is currently gearing up for the upcoming American Idol tour which kicks off on July 1st in Glendale, AZ. The 17-year old is expected to release his debut album later this year.
"Signing a record contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records is truly a dream come true," states Archuleta. "Being a fan of American Idol since season one and admiring the alumni, I am honored and humbled to be a part of that group. I'm really excited to start working on everything."
David Archuleta, the runner-up on the current season of "American Idol," has three songs entering the Hot 100 this week, starting with his stunning remake of John Lennon's "Imagine" at No. 36, along with his highly-praised rendition of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," and his finale song, "In This Moment."
Simon Fuller, creator of the popular TV series and chief executive and founder of 19 Entertainment Label Group, states, "It was fascinating to watch David's journey through Idol. He is a genuine pop star, and is a gifted singer who instantly won over a huge audience when he first appeared on the show. Since then, he has dealt with the pressure and the high level of expectation with real fortitude; he's given us some of the best performances of the season. Without question David Archuleta has a great future ahead of him."
Tom Carrabba, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Jive/Zomba Label Group comments, "David Archuleta has already shown the world that he is a star. He's a young, talented singer with wide appeal and we're thrilled to have him join our roster."
David Archuleta is from Murray, Utah, a town outside Salt Lake City. He recently came to national attention and captured the hearts and imagination of a nation with several show-stopping performances on "American Idol."

Bucky's New Single Climbs the Charts
Want American Idols Live Tickets? Get American Idols Live Tickets now! With his latest single, “I’ll Walk,” leaping into the Top 10 on the Mediabase country chart this week, Bucky Covington becomes one of only three male country artists since 2005 – including Josh Gracin and Jason Aldean - to have three consecutive top 10 singles from his debut album. Covington’s previous singles, “A Different World” and “It’s Good To Be Us,” peaked at #5 and #9, respectively, on the Mediabase country chart.
At the same time, Bucky’s single “I’ll Walk” is tearing up the country radio charts, it’s also shaping up to be his most reactive single yet. Not only does it frequently receive a standing ovation in his live shows, but digital track sales for “I’ll Walk” are up 58% over the last ten weeks while album sales are up more than 50% over the same period. Bucky’s self-titled debut album has scanned more than 370k units to date and has remained on the Nielsen SoundScan Country Top 75 chart week for 79 weeks since its release in April 2007.
Bucky’s self-titled debut CD opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in April 2007 with the biggest first week sales for any debut country artist that year. He wrapped 2007 as Country Aircheck’s #1 New Artist based on the strength of his top 5 first single “A Different World” and his most recent hit, “It’s Good To Be Us".

Happy Birthday Matt Rogers!
Get American Idols Live Tickets and back stage passes! Matt Rogers charmed the AI viewers and judges alike with his boyish charm and smooth vocals on season three. He had a rather unconventional background compared to most other contestants, having been an offensive lineman in college for the University of Washington Huskies. Most people probably remember him for his size, although he says he actually lost weight while on the show. Matt made it into the Top 12 that season, but was voted off after he sang "Amazed" during Country Week.
In an interview with fansofrealitytv.com, Matt says he wishes he would have gone for it more that week, saying, "If I could go back in time for Country Week, that was my thing. I would have thrown on my cowboy hat, sung a Toby Keith song, and I would have rocked the whole show. You know, you listen to all these people saying, 'America wants to see your sensitive side', and I end up doing that." He also said he wishes he would have shown off his "opera voice" more.
Matt has seen quite a bit of success as a correspondent since his time on "Idol," appearing on shows like "American Idol Extra," "Access Hollywood," "Entertainment Tonight," and "The Best Damn Sports Show Period." He currently hosts the appropriately named "Really Big Things" on The Discovery Channel. You probably saw him most recently in David Archuleta's hometown for the season seven AI finale, where he held his post as a correspondent. Staying true to his roots, Matt is currently the football coach at Mission Viejo High School in Mission Viejo, California.

Catching Up With Ramiele
American Idols Live is coming to a city near you! Buy American Idols Live Tickets to see American Idols Live! Once Ramiele Malubay was chosen as one of the top 24 contestants in season 7 of American Idol, life for her has been anything but dull. After competing for five weeks knowing that she would be on tour during the summer, Ramiele stayed in L.A. This worked out well for her, as rehearsals for the finale and the tour began in earnest before the season even ended.
Life in the Idol world is always fast paced. As soon as the finale ended, rehearsals really kicked up and then the top 10 Idols were on the road, touring America from coast to coast. Luckily for us, Ramiele took some time out of her busy schedule while she was in Newark to share some thoughts about the past year.
Ramiele has had a great experience on the road and she notes that "every city is different. We try to get off the bus, put our stuff inside and go and sign autographs before we have hair and makeup done and do press and whatnot." Later, she followed up, "I really didn't come into this with any expectations. I just love getting off the bus in other cities. I love waking up in different cities."
While it sounds glamorous and exciting, being on the road can be somewhat exhausting. Ramiele, though, exclaims, "It's less exhausting than the show." Without having to stoicly receive feedback from the judges after every performance, she confirms there's just less stress. This is how Ramiele describes a typical day on the road for her:
"Usually, after a show, if we have a show the next day, we'll travel to the next city and it will be, like, a four or five hour drive. We get out of the bus, take all of our stuff out, go and sleep for a couple hours, get ready, get all of our stuff back, get our hair and makeup done, meet the sponsors, perform, meet people after the show and, then, we go sign autographs outside and, then, we go and do the same thing all over again." Whew.
"All of us have gotten it down to a routine schedule. We're working on getting things done quicker. You know, like hair and makeup because there are five girls and four of the girls are in the first set, so it's hard to get everybody done, but we're doing really well."
Being on tour is also quite different from being on the show in that she is now regularly performing in front of thousands and thousands of people. Laughing, Ramiele told us what kind of effect this has had on her:
"Backstage I freak out a little bit when I look into the audience. I go second, so when Chikezie is out there, I peek through the little cracks and see how many people are out there. I kinda freak out a little because there are so many people. Then, you go out there and you do the same songs every night. You don't have to learn new words or impress anybody -- you're just being yourself. Putting yourself out there for the people who have been watching you and supporting you."
Being away from family and friends for so long can be challenging, but she speaks to them often. When we spoke to her, Ramiele was missing her dog very much, but, fortunately, her boyfriend was coming into town with her dog for a visit. After the tour, Ramiele hopes to meet with some major studios and will be retuning to the Philippines in December to do a few concerts.
