In 2006, Canadian band Tegan and Sara contributed a cover of Springsteen's, "Dancing in the Dark", to Australian radio station Triple J's Like a Version radio programme. The track was released on a compilation disc of that programme's songs, Like a Version: Volume Two. The band have recognized Bruce Springsteen as their main musical influence when growing up.
By the time Bruce Springsteen tickets returned with Bruce Springsteen's fourth album, Darkness on the Edge of Town (June 1978), however, the punk/new wave movement had outflanked him, pushing him from the vanguard to the mainstream. Similar sounding heartland rockers such as Bob Seger had appeared, so that Bruce Springsteen Sommet Center (formerly Nashville Arena And Gaylord Entertainment Center) tickets sounded less like an innovator than a member of an established genre.

A European itinerary is in full flow, and a rumored itinerary is finding its way around the Internet. It allegedly has dates for a Fall 2008 arena run to end off the Magic Tour in Los Angeles at the LA Sports Arena on Halloween.
