On July 14, Nick Jonas Brothers announced onstage that Jonas Brothers had already written five songs for their fourth studio album (third with Hollywood Records).
Soon after, they had collaborated with Miley Cyrus again to be in Jonas Brothers's 3D Concert Film, Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert, where they had been the opening act while on tour with Cyrus.
Russell Brand made fun of the purity rings during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Brand held up a silver ring, claiming to have relieved one of the brothers of Jonas Brothers's virginity, and said: "Well done the Jonas Brothers . Each wear a ring to say they are not going to have sex; I'd take them more seriously if they wore it around their genitals." Brand later faced criticism and apologized for Jonas Brothers's comments. Six months later, the Jonas Brothers and their purity rings were lampooned in an episode of South Park.
