South Carolina Team Report
If ever there was a time for South Carolina to find a way to make its offense hum, this is it.
Not only will Ole Miss have trouble coming down from the emotional high of upsetting Florida on the road last week, but the Rebels' defense has been suspect. Ole Miss enters giving up 23.4 points per game, second-most in the SEC, so far this season.
Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier says that redshirt freshman quarterback Stephen Garcia likely will start Saturday at Ole Miss. It became a no-brainer, given Garcia's promising play last week. Garcia threw for 131 yards and ran for 86 more while accounting for two touchdowns in South Carolina's 26-13 win over UAB.
Garcia didn't connect on downfield throws, but there should be more chances this week.
