Following a rare break this month to write songs and recharge, country singer
Dierks Bentley will hit the road hard again next month, visiting US cities from coast to coast, as well as a couple of Canadian provinces, through August.
The Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter/guitarist will start June 6 with his annual Last Call Ball party during the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. He'll go on to play a slew of fairs and festivals, including Manchester, TN's Bonnaroo Music Festival, which has never hosted a mainstream country artist before, according to a press release. Dates are listed below.
Bentley went on a major promotions blitz in March when he released his first concert DVD, "Live and Loud at the Fillmore." The 90-minute film, shot a year ago at Denver's Fillmore Auditorium, features the singer performing some of his biggest hits along with tracks from his October release, "Long Trip Alone."
In a press release, Bentley described the Fillmore as "a kick-ass rock bar with four thousand people standing up with a beer in one hand and a fist up in the other." He added that he and his band wanted to "capture that moment before we move up to playing arenas."
Indeed, after reaching platinum status with his first two albums and opening for the likes of George Strait and Kenny Chesney, Bentley has become a headliner in his own right.
He is currently working behind "Long Trip Alone," which topped Billboard's country album chart and landed at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Bentley and his producers, Brett Beavers and Luke Wooten, tried to bring the hillbilly spirit of classic country and the excitement of the live show to the record, according to a press release. Bentley should know all about the live energy, since he spent more than 300 days on the road last year.
