Wake Forest Team Report
Wake Forest goes into its early open date with essentially two concerns. The Demon Deacons (2-0, 0-0 ACC) have had problems generating a consistent running game in their wins over Baylor and Ole Miss, and their defense has not played up to expectations.
That's hardly a formula for success, especially with a trip to Florida State coming up on Sept. 20.
The two issues are somewhat surprising for the veteran team.
With promising redshirt freshman Brandon Pendergrass joining returning starter Josh Adams in the backfield, the running game looked to be a strength. But the two backs have combined to run for only 163 yards in the two games.
Part of that can be attributed to the changes in the offensive line.
