  The View is a many time Emmy Award nominated American daytime television talk show on ABC created by Barbara The View Tickets Walters, Bill Geddie, and Jessica Guff. The show features a panel of women as co-hosts, as of September 2006 The View Tickets consisting of Rosie O'Donnell, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Barbara Walters, who also acts as the show's The View Tickets co-executive producer. The show premiered on August 11, 1997. It is produced and videotaped at ABC's television The View Tickets studio on West 66th Street in New York City, and is the first and only show on ABC's daytime schedule to broadcast The View Tickets in high definition. The concept of The View is to showcase women with a range of perspectives, as they speak with each other as well as The View Tickets with their guests. An early version of the show's opening credits, with voice-over from Walters, captured the premise: I've always wanted to do a show with women of different generations, backgrounds and views: a working mother; a The View Tickets professional in her 30s; a young woman just starting out; and then somebody who's done almost everything and will The View Tickets say almost anything. And in a perfect world, I'd get to join the group whenever I wanted ... After Lisa Ling joined the show, Barbara's voice-over changed in the opening: "I had this idea for a show. Different The View Tickets women with different points of view, maybe a little too different. We call it The View." Popular segments were "Hot The View Tickets Topics", Meredith's Club, Star's Heart-to-Heart, Joy's Comedy Corner, and Segment 5. Friday shows were titled "High The View Tickets Five Fridays" with all five ladies at the table. Today's current opening previews the upcoming show with pictures of each of the co-hosts flashing on the screen The View Tickets starting with Rosie and ending with Barbara. The show opens each day with "Hot Topics," in which the co-hosts provide their commentary on the day's top headlines The View Tickets in politics and entertainment. The year 2006 saw the departure of two of the show's original co-hosts: Meredith Vieira on June 9 and Star Jones The View Tickets Reynolds on June 27.
