The Arizona Cardinals are the oldest football club in the United States and were founded in 1898. The team originally began in Chicago, Illinois then in 1960 they made the move to St. Louis, Missouri. The Cardinals were often nicknamed the Football Cardinals or the Cardiac Cards to avoid confusion with the major League Baseball team the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1987 the team made another move, this time to Tempe, Arizona to call the Arizona State University's Sun Devils Stadium home. In 2006 they moved again this time into the newly built University of Phoenix Stadium, only a short distance from their old stadium. The new stadium is located in Glendale, Arizona. Over the years the Cardinals have always been the cardinals, they began as the Morgan Athletic Club, Racine Normals, and Racine Cardinals. Then they became the Chicago Cardinals, Card-Pitt, Chicago Cardinals again, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Phoenix Cardinals and then in 1994 they became the present Arizona Cardinals. The team holds 2 NFL Championships, 1 NFC, 6 Division Championships for NFL West (2), NFC East (2) and NFC West (2). Although the team has had some success over the years they also hold the league's "longest active championship drought" and the only team to lose 700 games since their establishment.
