The Vancouver Canucks are a professional National Hockey League (NHL) team that calls Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada home. They play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the NHL and call the Rogers Arena home in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Canucks were founded in 1945 under the Pacific Coast Hockey League (PCHL), and then when the PCHL merged with the Western Hockey League (WHL) they continued to play for the WHL. Then in 1970 the WHL league merged into the NHL so again the Canucks became an expansion team for the NHL. Some of the great players for the Canucks over the years include Stan Smyl, Trevor Linden, Markus Naslund, Pavel Bure, Mark Messier and 4 other players in the Hockey Hall of Fame, and 4 Coaches that are also Hall of Famers.
